Our Story
Ted Travels is a boutique luxury Destination Management Company based in Edinburgh, founded on decades of experience in both five-star hospitality and bespoke travel design.
Ted Travels is led by two industry professionals with deep roots in luxury travel and hospitality.
Rupert Tan, a hotelier with more than 30 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, including senior roles with internationally renowned brands such as Hilton, Marriott and Ritz-Carlton. Throughout his career, Rupert has worked across every department within five-star hotels, giving him a rare and holistic understanding of what truly defines exceptional guest experiences.
He is joined by Alice Paisley, founder of Alician Travel, a luxury travel design company specialising in tailor-made European journeys for discerning international clients and travel advisors.
Together, they bring a unique dual perspective to destination management — combining the operational insight of world-class hospitality with the creativity and precision of bespoke travel design.

Ted Travels operates as a high-end boutique Destination Management Company, designing seamless, tailor-made journeys across the UK, with a focus on Scotland, and Europe for luxury travel advisors and their clients.
Our role goes far beyond logistics. Each itinerary is thoughtfully curated through a deep understanding of destination, guest expectations, and the small details that transform a trip into something truly memorable.
From exceptional hotels and private guides to cultural encounters and hidden local experiences, every element is carefully selected to ensure travellers experience a destination authentically, effortlessly and exceptionally well.

The company takes its inspiration from Rupert’s Uncle Ted — a navy engineer who travelled widely and built lasting friendships wherever he went. That spirit of connection, curiosity and genuine hospitality remains at the heart of everything we do.
